Across:

3. Blue in colour with valves, these take blood towards the heart.
4. The powerhouse artery. Takes blood to the head and body from the heart.
6. Red in colour. Usually takes blood away from the heart.
7. Another name for the Sino-atrial node and sometimes fitted artifically. Found in the Right Atrium. Controls the rhythmic contractions of the heart with a small electrical impulse.
8. Carries de-oxygenated blood back into the heart from the head and body.
10. Valve found in between the RIGHT ventricle and atrium. Stops the back flow of blood.

Down:

1. Valve found in between the LEFT atrium and ventricle. Stops the back flow of blood.
2. Separates the left and right side of the heart.
3. General name for either chamber in the bottom half of the heart.
5. When blood leaves the lungs it contains oxygen, carried by haemaglobin. We call this blood "............... blood"
9. A chamber in the top half of the heart.
