How to Lose Weight

Weight Loss

About 80% of weight loss comes through nutrition so look at the diet.

Most people eat too many sugary carbohydrates which are converted to body fat if they are not burnt off through exercise. These sugary carbohydrates also cause fatigue as the blood sugar levels fluctuate in an eratic manner. If complex carbohydrates are eaten then energy levels are sustained for longer.

The diet should include the right sorts of proteins, carbohydrates and good fats to maintain a balanced diet.

Training

When training, combine weights with cardio. Weight training helps the process of weight loss by speeding up the metabolism. During weight training muscle fibres are broken down and the metabolism is speeded up to recreate more muscle.

Aim to train five times a week, anything less than four times a week means that the metabolism will slow back down again. It is better to do less challenging workouts so that exercise can be regular and the metabolism is kept going.
