Control Box

Explanation: The control box is an imaginary area in front of a players feet that is about the same width as the body. This control box varies slightly for each player depending on height, build, and point of balance. The head of the stick and the ball should remain within this control box to enable better balance, allowing players to dribble, pass, and receive the ball easier.

Description: To find a control box hold a stick in the right hand and a ball in the left hand. Then get into a squat position, extend the left arm out in front and place the ball on the ground at the furthest point without being off balance.

Leave the ball and stand up. Then get into the balanced attack stance, with the shake-hands grip, and keep the head over the right wrist and eyes on the ball.

Keep practicing this position until it becomes natural.
