Lifted Dribble

Explanation: The lifted dribble is otherwise known as the jink or the motorcycle. It is a complex dribble but a good one to use when in trouble. If a defender has blocked the forward path with their stick low to the ground, execute the lifted dribble, using both hands, on either side of the body. Whilst dribbling the ball lift it at least 10 cm into the air and then touch it to the left or right before it drops to the ground.

Description: To perform this difficult skill dribble towards a defender, take a quick look up to see their position and find open space. Drop the handle of the stick down and turn it towards the body, this will open up the face of the stick allowing it to slide underneath the ball.

Lift the ball into the air and then use the left hand to turn the stick and point it in the direction away from the defender. When executing this keep body weight spread evenly between the balls of the feet to maintain balance. Whilst the ball is in the air tap it towards the open space, turn the body to follow the ball, and accelerate past, and away from the defender.
