Speed Dribble

Explanation: The speed dribble is otherwise known as the forehand or open field dribble. This is mainly used when a player has lots of space in front of them to gain some ground quickly. It can also be used to cut across the pitch making it hard for the defender to tackle.

Description: After receiving the ball using the forehand receiving technique with the shake-hands grip, the body should be slightly crouched. The ball should be on the right side of the body, and the stick close behind the ball. Take a quick look up to see what is ahead, then focus back on the ball.

Start to move by pushing the ball ahead, and outside the line of the right foot. Try to strike the bottom half of the ball as and change the speed and direction of the dribble. Keep the head up looking for options, and the ball out in front.
