Weight Training - Incline Press Up

 

Teaching points

  • Hands are placed on elevated surface
  • Maintain a straight body throughout exercise
  • Abs & Glutes should be tight throughout
  • Bend the elbows outwards to lower the chest towards the floor
  • Push back up to the starting position
  • A good exercise for beginners who are looking to develop strength, and find ordinary press ups hard.

Variations & progressions

  • To make the exercise easier, maintain the all fours kneeling position
  • Push your hips forwards so that the weight is on the hands
  • Standard press up
  • Decline press up
