Seated calf raise machines vary from gym to gym. Most will involve the following:
Teaching points
- Sit on the seat with the front of the foot supported on the platform
- Pull the lever back to lower the weight onto your thigh, just above the bent knee
- Raise the heels up to lift the weights
- Slowly lower the heels back down to the starting position
Variations and progressions
- To increase the difficulty of the exercise, drop the heels down, past the level of the platform
