Practice 1.1 - Overhead Throw, Feet Side by Side

Aim: To develop the basic throwing technique and improve flexibility and core stability

Description:

  • Stand with feet shoulder width apart and holding a medicine ball in both hands
  • Take the medicine ball back behind the head, but keep arms as long as possible
  • Lean back, bend legs slightly to create a big arch before throwing
  • Repeat 10 times for 3 sets

Coaching points:

  • Arms must be kept long and as straight as possible.

  • 2.1 - Overhead Twist to the right

  • 3.1 - 2 Step Medicine Ball Throw
  • 3.2 - 3 Step Throw
  • 3.3 - 5 Step Throw
