Training Advancement Onwards and Upwards

 

The training schedules displayed take the athlete through to the age of 17 years.Beyond that point the training regime and mileage needs to be increased gradually each year by approximately 10%.

That is to say the Under 20 athlete should be aspiring to training six day a week possibly with the inclusion of one or two early morning easy runs. Grass sessions need to increase to 30 minutes of effort.  Track sessions would be increased to 8 to 10km volume.

Training volume is very dependent on the individual. As previously mentioned the schedules produced should act as a guide and should be tailored to suit each athlete.
